A Run With Zen

Messlia & I met at 8:30am(Boston Store) to run the Water Fall Route(Brandy Wine, Blue Hen and Buttermilk Falls). I wasn't sure exactly how many miles we would run but I figured about 10 miles. We started towards Brandy wine first, the towpath wasn't to bad, the snow was packed down, same with Stanford & Brandy wine trails. We had a little bit of ice to deal with, but all in all a fun run.
The Brandywine Inn we ran into a few cute kids playing in the yard.

The Brandywine water crossing was a little dangerous, very icy. I'm secretly waiting for Melissa to fall in to the water....Heeee...

Blue Hen Falls

I spotted a really tall troll living behind ButterMilk Falls

BRRRR...
I'm ready for Spring. I ran at the NAT Tues. 5 miles. Wed. I was unable to get my butt out of bed to run at 5am and the rest of the day was spent with the kids.

Friday evening was a Happy Days Trail Run with Vince & Brandon. We ran 1:11; I have 5:08 on the Garmin but Vince thought it was more like 6-7miles.
Sat 6:30am a trek through the snow covered towpath 49:26 (4.59 miles)
Sat 7:30am 1:57:53 (12:13 miles) We changed the route and ran the Shamrock 15K in reverse.

Sunday 8:30am 10 mile run. Start from Boston Store then run to Blue Hen Falls, Buttermilk Falls then down to Brandywine Falls. We will make up miles with an out & back on the Buckeye Trail North towards Jade.

Total of 45ish for the week.

Coffee & The Chocolate Factory: I was drinking coffee and watching Charlie & The Chocolate Factory while writing this blog.

Lovin The Hills Race Report

This will be easy....
I didn't go.....
Yes that right I was unable to go to KY for Lovin The Hills 50K. The sitter I had for the kids was sick and I didn't have a backup plan. I did think about driving down at 1:30am and running the race, but that thought only lasted a minute. I was bummed out all day Friday and Saturday. I ran with the Lock 29 VR TRAINING GROUP on Sat. All I thought about was running the hills.
I know I haven't been blogging lately but I've been busy with the kids, PURE FUEL ORGANIC ENERGY BARS & PLAYING WITH KNIVES & FIRE CATERING.

I've been working on a few new products for PURE FUEL. The first one is Black Forest Recovery Bar. This will be a post run, training, or workout bar. It has whey protein, chocolate & dried black cherries. It's really good!!!! We should have it in our product list by the end of February. The other product is our Western Reserve Trail Mix Bar. Bite size pieces of our bar (called Fuel Cells) laced with all the ingredients you would find in a trail mix: Sunflower seeds, Almonds, Dried Pineapple, Raisins, and carob chips. This one is also very good!!!

We add a few places to buy Pure Fuel; Kent Natural Foods (Downtown Kent), Human Potenal Labs (In the Valley Akron OH), Twinsburg Fitness Center (Twinsburg OH), Advanced Chiropractic & Wellness Center (Cuyahoga Falls OH)

Playing With Knives & Fire is doing well we have caterings booked into Oct. 2008. I'm working a new website for the company that should be up and running soon. We are alos working on booking more catering, cooking demo's & classes.
